How to calculate age

Common questions
How do I find my age on 1 January or 1 August?
Enter your date of birth, then tap 01/01 or 01/08 under "Age as on" (or type any date). The age shown is your age on that day.
How is age counted in a recruitment notice?
Notices give a cut-off date and say the age must be at least the minimum and not more than the maximum on that date. The tool shows the exact age on that date and the range of birth dates allowed.
How much age relaxation do OBC, SC and ST get?
For many central government posts it is usually 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST, and more for persons with disabilities. Rajasthan and each notice can differ, so always use the numbers in your notification; choose "Custom" to type them.
I was born on 29 February. How is my age counted?
In years without 29 February, the tool counts your birthday on 28 February.
Why use DD/MM/YYYY?
It is the format used on Indian forms and certificates. Typing 05/04/2000 means 5 April 2000.
